Prime Ledger Private beta

Accounting and accounts payable in one system

An approved invoice is a posted entry — nothing to sync, nothing re-keyed. The same lines cost the plate and value the inventory, and every figure traces back to the page it was read from.

Built and used by 86 Costs, an accounting firm that keeps the books for restaurants and small businesses.

In private beta with our own clients. Not yet open for sign-up.

Asked to send invoices to invoices.primeledgerapp.com?

That address is ours, and it is legitimate. If a customer of yours has asked you to add it alongside the address you already send to, invoices sent there reach their accounting team. Nothing changes about your terms, your remittance details, or how you are paid — and please keep sending to the address you use today as well.

If you would rather confirm it with a person first, write to inquire@primeledgerapp.com and somebody will answer.

What it does

Reads the invoice, posts the entry

Vendor invoices arrive by email or upload, get coded, approved by a person, and land in the ledger. No export step and nothing keyed twice.

Refuses what it cannot prove

An invoice whose own arithmetic does not close is held for a person and the problem is named. Nothing is guessed at to make a total agree.

Every number has a page behind it

Click a figure in a report and follow it back through the entry to the invoice line and the scan it was read from, with whoever changed it on the way.

Reporting an operator can read

A restaurant-shaped profit and loss, weekly prime cost, and costs that arrive while there is still time to act on them.

Inventory and recipe costing on the same lines

Counts by storage area, month-end valuation, plate and menu cost — built from the invoice lines already captured, rather than re-keyed into a second system that has to be kept in step.

One system, not two that must agree

Accounting, accounts payable, inventory and costing in a single ledger. No export step between capture and the books, and no third place for inventory to disagree with them.

Who built it

Prime Ledger is built by 86 Costs, an accounting firm that keeps the books for restaurants and small businesses.

It exists because the software we used every day made us re-key what had already been captured, and could not tell us where a number came from. We are our own first customer, and the books we are testing it against are real.
